This mobile was produced in India by a women’s co-operative in Kolkata specialising in embroidery and jewellery. All of the artisans had previously been badly treated by employers and came to realise by being part of a fair trade group good relations were set up between producer and seller and they were paid fair wages. More than 150 families are involved with this group and they work closely with the community to support needy children with education. The mobile measures 80 cm and features 12 brightly coloured birds with lots of beads and bells. It will attract the attention of every small child.
