Description

 his male costume is the traditional dress of Saudi Arabia and Palestine.

It is influenced by climate, utility and custom. It consists of the loose fitting ankle length shirt usually in white known as a “thawb”. It is worn over loose pants. On the head is worn a “ghutra an iqal”, which is a head cloth with a double circle of black rope or cord to hold in place. The square head cloth is normally made of coloured checks. The cloth is folded diagonally into a triangle with the folded line placed across the forehead and held in place with the ring.
